Student IDs will be distributed over the next few days during lunch.  A table will be set up outside the cafeteria.  Freshmen pick up IDs Friday, seniors on Monday, and sophomores/juniors pick up on Tuesday.

 

The annual Rebel Runway is being held at the WM Convention Center on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 6:00. Anyone interested in attending may purchase a ticket for $40 from a WM cheerleader, or you may purchase one from Mrs. Brothers, Mrs. Garvin, or Mrs. Hunt.  This will be a sell out event so hurry up and make plans to see your Rebel cheerleaders, Raiders, and athletes strut their stuff on stage.

 

Are you a student making a difference in your community through volunteering?  If so, you could be the recipient of one of the 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.  That means you could earn a thousand dollars or more and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D. C. in the spring.  Take time to fill out the application and let’s celebrate your hard work.  You don’t even have to be a senior to apply.  Find out more on the West Monroe High School Facebook site or at gorebs.org.  Scholarship information is located under the Guidance Department link on our website.  The application deadline is November 6, 2018. 

On Saturday, September 15,Tulane University will be hosting a Campus Preview Day for all Louisiana students and families. The event is geared toward juniors and seniors, but sophomores and freshmen are also welcome to attend. During the event, students will tour campus, explore classrooms and labs, hear from students and faculty at panel discussions, get important tips for the admission and financial aid processes, and learn about special opportunities for Louisiana students at Tulane.

Grambling State University will be hosting High School Day on Saturday, September 22, 2018.   This is an excellent opportunity for prospective students that have an interest in becoming a part of the Grambling family.   Get an intimate look into the University's exceptional degree programs and engage in student life on campus. Each guest will have the opportunity to interact with faculty and staff from over 40 degree programs! Grambling State University Student Ambassadors will also be available for tours. Here is the best news:  On-site Admission will be available.  Become a Tiger on September 22, 2018.  Bring a copy of your high school transcript and ACT test scores.Go to the Grambling State University website to register for this event

Are you interested in Mississippi State University?  Do you have an ACT score of 30 or above?  If so, sign up for Scholars Recognition Days at the Mississippi State University website.  There is no charge for this event, but space is limited.  Scholars Recognition Days areOctober 15, November 5 and November 19. 

Mississippi State University is hosting three fall college preview days in 2018 – October 8th, October 29th and November 12th.  This event is geared towards juniors and seniors.  Just pick a date and register at the Mississippi State University website.  The goal is for students to spend an entire day on campus and see what a day in the life of a bulldog is all about.  Students and their families will have a chance to hear from academic representatives, check out residence halls, eat lunch at one of the on-campus eateries, learn how students get involved at MSU, and so much more.  Don’t delay if you are considering a future at Mississippi State.

 

Jr Civitans: there are still some shifts available to work at the fair. Please come by Mrs Beach’s room Tuesday to sign up. You will be notified when shirts come in.

 

Students and Faculty, tonight is WM Rebel Soccer Newk's Night.  Please come out and support your Rebel Soccer team from 5 to 8 pm at Newk's Eatery in West Monroe.   Dine-in or pick-up and Newk's Eatery will donate a portion of your check to Rebel Soccer.   We thank you for your support!

 

The first French club meeting will be this Thursday starting at 7:15 in room 2203. If you would like to submit a t-shirt design, it is due by the end of the school day on Wednesday

There is a new law requiring you to get a temporary permit before enrolling.  I have the information in my office in the PE gym.  My next class will start Tuesday September 18th.
