From a total applicant pool of nearly 42,000 high school scholar-athletes graduating with the class of 2019, more than 7,500 have been named School Winners in Wendys annual scholarship competition. School Winners will continue to compete for the chance to become State Finalists, State Winners, NationalFinalists or National Winners. State Winners receive a $500 college scholarship, National Finalists receive a $1,000 college scholarship and the male and female National Winners receive a $5,000 college scholarship and trip to New York City to attend the Heisman Trophy Trusts annual college Heisman award broadcast on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Reese  Aultman has been selected as a school finalist. We are cheering for you, Reese, and we hope you make it to the state finals.

Today West Monroe High School will be visited by MoTown Greatness. Mabel Johns will be visiting the Rebel Choir today during 3rd hour to discuss the music business. She was a solo artist for seventeen years, she joined Ray Charles where she became a performing member and director of the Raelettes. She has co-published 52 songs with Ray Charles and was with his organization for ten and a half years before leaving in 1976.
