This is the last day to sign up for the blood drive. You must have parental permission if you are 16 and wish to donate. 17 years old and above do not need parental permission. The blood drive will be held October 5 and 6th in the new gym lobby.

Attention Character Counts Members. T-Shirt Order Forms are available in the library, room 6205 or in room 1216.  The cost is $15.00. All orders are due by Thursday, Oct 6th.  Also, there will be Character Counts Club meetings in room 6205 on Tuesday, October 4th at 7:30 am and 3:15 pm.  Members must attend one of these meetings.

Change in plans for homecoming dance ticket sales....Tickets will be on sale beginning Thursday, Oct 6 - Thursday Oct 13 during both lunch shifts.

If you are bringing a date from outside our school you need to come get a form from outside Mrs. Knox's room. This form states that the student you are a trying to bring is not a bad apple and would not cause a ruckus for us at the dance. The school that they attend must sign and fax the form back to us. Forms will not be accepted from students. Inviting someone from our school is a much simpler option.

What’s up all you Patriotic Rebels! Be sure to show your Rebel pride and support our troops in RED, WHITE, and BLUE! Game Day shirts can still be purchased from the Rebel Store for $10. Hope to see you tonight at 7:00 as WMHS Football takes on the Ridgeway Roadrunners of Memphis, Tennessee!!

Homecoming week will be here soon. We will have 3 spirit days that week to celebrate the week. We are out of school on Monday and Tuesday for fall break, so the first day will be Wednesday. We are calling Wednesday, "When I Grow up" We would like to see everyone dressed up like what they want to be as an adult. Maybe an astronaut, a doctor or even a soldier. Thursday will be "Traditional Trick or Treat" So try to put together a witch, a clown or maybe an angel costume. Be sure to bring a jack-o-lantern for some sweet treats around the school. Friday will be "Decade Day" You can come as a 20's flapper or gangster, 50's sock hopper , hippie tie dye or even 80s big hair. Here's a short video to give you some ideas if things to wear during homecoming week.

Seniors who have maintained a 3.0 GPA or better, have been proven leaders and role models within their school and community, and participate in at least one school-sponsored sport can apply for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award online by October 3, 2016.

The college financial aid process is starting early.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) can now be submitted as early as October 1. Discover Student Loans is hosting a FREE webinar, College Financial Aid 101, on October 5th & 8th from 6:00-8:00to help students and families make sense of the new changes to the FAFSA and the financial aid process.

West Monroe High School will participate in the national administration of the PSAT on October 19th. This test is designed to recognize high achieving 10th and 11th grade students throughout the county. The cost for this test is $20 cash payable to 10th and 11th grade English teachers through October 7th. We have only a limited number of tests so don't hesitate to register.

If you are interested in being a member of the Rebel Nation student section the cost is $5.00 and can be paid this week either in the main office to Mrs. Thompson or Mrs. Kahman before lunch or during both lunch shifts outside on the Rebel Boardwalk. This does not get you into the games, only into the student section. Your money goes towards the purchase of noise makers, costumes and décor for the themes. See Mrs. Krista Jones or Mrs. Heather Gulde if you have any questions.
