Any student planning on taking a dual enrollment class next year may still pick up a form in guidance. Applications are due by May 1. Also, the ULM DE online application IS NOW OPEN. You must complete this application in order to take any DE class through ULM. Remember to turn in all paper applications and application fees to Mrs. Hunt in room #4209.


This week is National Classics Week! Latin and Greek students across the country are celebrating Rome's 2,770th birthday on April 21st by showing our JCLove for our communities! The WMHS JCL Chapter is collecting supplies to be donated to the Humane Adoption Society of Monroe. They need bleach, liquid laundry detergent, liquid dish soap, dog shampoo, heavy duty trash bags, pet treats, martingale dog collars, leashes, and pet toys. If you want to work with JCL to help our local furry friends, please bring your donations to Mrs. Kelly's room 2208 by lunch on Friday, April 20.


The Dual Enrollment Program at the University of Louisiana Monroe offers students at participating schools the opportunity to earn college credit and meet the requirements for high school graduation. Courses are taught either at the high school or online by SACSCOC-qualified Instructors. Students participating in the Dual Enrollment Program are not allowed to use talent grants, academic scholarships or dependent fee waivers.

Louisiana Board of Regents Dual Enrollment Admission Requirements for 2018-2019 (effective beginning Fall 2018):

1.Address the Louisiana Core 4 curriculum

2.Minimum 2.5 OVERALL high school GPA (goes up to 2.75 effective Fall 2019)

3. Minimum 19 ACT Composite

4.Minimum English ACT of 18*

5.Minimum MATH ACT of 19*


*High school students who meet other readiness indicators but are in need of remediation must be making progress to address the necessary remediation to enroll in ANY course on the Articulation Matrix:

▪Students with an ACT sub score of <18 in English who meet all other requirements may enroll in a MATH course, an Introductory Science course, and/or an elective course not specifically listed on the Articulation Matrix if they concurrently address the reading/writing deficiencies. ▪Students with an ACT sub score of <19 in MATH who meet all other requirements may enroll in English, Foreign Language, History, Introductory Social Science, Humanities, and/or Fine Arts courses if they concurrently address the Mathematics deficiencies.

Addressing deficiencies includes continuing HS courses in the Louisiana Core 4 Curriculum, increasing ACT sub scores, and/or successfully completing remedial college courses.


▪Before enrolling in ANY course on the Master Articulation Matrix in the Spring semester of the Senior year in high school, students MUST demonstrate readiness in both English & Mathematics

High schools must provide proof of eligibility prior to the beginning of the Senior-year Spring semester:

English sub score 18+ AND Math sub score 19+

College credit in required remedial course. Additionally, in order for students to be enrolled in courses, the following conditions apply:

1. Must be at least a Sophomore in high school

2. Admitted to ULM prior to the posted deadline

3. All course prerequisite are met

4. Requested courses are on the SACSCOC-approved course list for the students high school


Attention Senior National Honor Society Members. All community service must be completed with forms turned in by end of school on today, April 16. Please download your form on the NHS section of Turn in your form to Ms. Rodgers in room 1205.



The application for the Northeast Louisiana Rice Grower's Association is now in Guidance, on our Guidance Scholarship page, and on our school Facebook page. This is a $750 scholarship given to a graduating senior from a Northeast Louisiana Parish who will attend a Louisiana College or University. You must have maintained a 2.5 GPA through the first semester of his/her high school senior year. All applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2018. 


Attention any girls who are interested in playing soccer next season need to go by room 5203 and sign up for tryouts with Coach Barron. Tryouts will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 19th and 20th at the stadium from 3:30 to 5:30. You don't need any prior soccer experience to tryout, so please go by and see Coach Barron in room 5203 to sign up and get more details.


If you are interested in applying for the Ben Caldwell Memorial Scholarship, you must do so online. The info for applying can be found on the Ben Caldwell Memorial Scholarship Facebook page, in the guidance office, on our WMHS Facebook page, and on our guidance webpage. The deadline for applying is April 23, 2018.


If you wish to come out for football, come to the front office and pick up a form.
