Interact club meeting will be Tuesday, Aug 30 @6 in the choir room. This meeting is for last years members only. We will make many important decisions including electing new members, picking our club t-shirt as well as picking the theme for the homecoming dance. Now let’s go to Jace with an explanation of what Interact is all about. Interact Club is a community service club. They do many projects throughout the year including nursing home visits, Special Olympics, projects with Riser Elementary, and more as well as decorating for WMHS Homecoming dance. If you would like to be a part of Interact Club, now is the time to apply. In order to get your
name on the ballot, you must bring a school supply to Mrs. Knox in room 3109. These supplies will be given to students in need at WMHS. When you bring a supply, your name will be added to the ballot. Being added to the ballot does not guarantee your
spot in the club. Current club members will choose 30-35 new members next week. If you are chosen as a new member, you will find out in September when you are presented your big "I" as a part of your initiation.
If you would like to join Spanish Club, see Mrs. Ballance in room 2207 for information. You must be in Spanish 2 now or have completed 2 years of Spanish to join. The cost is $15 and includes a t-shirt.
Tadpoles applicants who received the required teacher recommendations will be posted outside Mrs. Cavin's door on Wednesday. Those students should attend a meeting in the
cafeteria Thursday, September 1st  at 6pm. You can pay the $20 club fee at that time.
Former and current French students may sign up for French club starting on Wednesday. The cost is $15, which includes the t-shirt.

Fellowship of Christian students meets on Wednesday mornings at 7:15. Great news that we have already outgrown out meeting space!  Starting this week, FCS will meet in the room next to KREB upstairs in wing 1. Don't worry about finding the room. FCS
members will be in the hallway to show you where to go.
Also IMPACT is this week Monday Tuesday and Wednesday nights at first west. Doors open at 6 and the service starts at 6:30. Plug into this positive experience whenever you can this week!
All current and prospective student council members:  There is a meeting this Thursday at 6:30 pm in the WMHS library.  If you are planning on running for freshman officer or representative you must be at this meeting.  The meeting for prospective members will end at 7 so make sure you have a ride to pick you up at that time.
Okay everybody here are some things that are happening soon…So put these on your planner.
Athletic Passes are being sold in Coach Walker’s room 1221 and coach McDuffie’s room 5207 before school and during lunch. Athletic passes get students into all regular season, home games at West Monroe, not just football, all sports. Save money and buy
yours today, $20.  School IDs will be distributed Monday and Tuesday of next week. Seniors and freshmen will be on Monday and juniors and sophomores will be on Tuesday. You can pick up
your ID in the boardwalk by the cafeteria during both lunch shifts. Tables will be labeled by grade and alphabet. The picture that is on your ID will appear in the yearbook, unless you are a senior and took a special picture in Albritton Studios. Do not lose this ID! It is
good for 3 years. It will cost $5 to replace in Student Services if you lose it. If you have not taken a yearbook picture yet, you WILL NOT have an ID.

Quiz Bowlers: Our first practice will be after school on Monday, August 29th in Mrs. Bell’s room in the Mangnatech building. That’s this Monday! Anyone interested in participating in quiz bowl should come to the meeting to pick up an application.
California Trip: Anyone interested in a trip to California in July 2017 should pick up an information page in wing 3 hallway downstairs. Meeting about this trip will be Tuesday August 30th at 5:30 in the library.  Jr. Civitan club: The WMHS Junior Civitan club is a service organization for students. Members make a difference by volunteering at school, participating in community
outreach projects, and helping people with developmental disabilities. If you are interested in joining, we will have our first meeting on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 in room 6206 immediately after school.

Yearbook pictures and ID retakes will be Tuesday, September 13th in the Main Office Lobby starting at 7:30 am. This is a free service for anyone that missed pictures on preview day and pictures on the 1st day of school. If you DID take you picture, proofs will be distributed next week. If you would like a retake of that picture, you must pay $5 on retake day.
