Junior Civitans will have a meeting tomorrow after school in room 6206. Members who are participating in the Pen Pal project and cannot attend the meeting should stop by Mrs. Beach's room some time during the day to fill out a Valentine's Card!

 

Now is the time to sign up for the Festival of World Languages at ULM. It is on Saturday, March 3 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.The cost is $10 which includes lunch and a t-shirt.The theme is "Language has Talent."This is an opportunity to learn about different languages and how they apply in different fields.Sign up in room 2203 with Madame Young or 2207 with Senora Ballance. The deadline is Wednesday, February 14th. You must have $10 cash to sign up.

 

Good luck to the Lady Rebel Soccer team as they travel down to Covington today for their quarterfinal match vs #3 St. Scholastica. Kickoff time is 2:00.

 

Seniors, remember to attend the Senior Financial Aid Night, this Thursday, February 15, in the auditorium. At 5 p.m., a TOPS program representative will give an update on the TOPS program. Beginning at 5:30 until 7 p.m. ,financial aid representatives will in the WMHS library to meet privately with your parents and assist them in completing their portion of the FAFSA. Be sure to mark this on your calendars and remind your parents to attend.

 

Attention all District Literary Rally Participants: Don't forget about our meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30 in Mrs. D. Smith's room (4106). Please bring your signed permission slip. If you can't make the meeting, please stop by to drop off your permission slip and receive some important information.

 

Are you interested in dancing in the Spring Musical “Willy Wonka”? We will have auditions after school today at 3:30 in the West Monroe High School Choir room.

If you are a student who has special achievements outside of school, such as Eagle Scouts, riding competitions, Jiu Jitsu competitions, etc, email pictures with a caption to kiper@opsb.net

 

Seniors, If you are planning to attend LA Tech this fall and major in Accounting or Engineering, guidance just received a CenturyLink Scholarship application for $1500 per academic semester. The deadline to apply is April 1. Pick up an application in the guidance office or print one from our website or from our WMHS Face Book page.

 

The George Welch Elementary Scholarship application is now available in guidance and online.The deadline for submission is April 6. If you have already gotten an application for the First National Bank Uncommon Scholarship, the first page was missing from the application, so you need to get an new app. You can pick it up in guidance or get it online.

 

You may now apply for the Drew Elementary School Sylvia Davison Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Drew Elementary's PTO gives this scholarship each year to a student who attended Drew for 5 complete years. Please check out our guidance website, the WMHS Face Book Page, or stop by Guidance for an application. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 2.

 

The 2017-18 Church's Chicken Scholars Program application is now available to all seniors. Each senior who is selected will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship with more than 225 scholarships being awarded . To see the criteria and to apply simply go online at www.scholarsapply.org/churchsscholars. All applications must be submitted no later than Thursday, February 15.

 

Seniors, there is one new scholarship available to you if you have been involved in baseball. The American Legion Baseball Scholarship is available for those who have played American Legion Ball and the application can be requested at baseball@legion.org.The deadline for applying is July 15.
