If you are a student who has distinguished yourself by making a difference in our community by volunteering, then listen up because its time to apply for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. You may possibly receive an award for your service, receive a $1,000 scholarship, and an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C. next spring for four days of special recognition events. If you would like more info and to fill out an application, you can stop by guidance or see your social studies teacher. Applications are due online by Nov. 17, 2017

 

Its time to fill out an application for the Drew Elementary PTO Sylvia Davison Memorial Scholarship. If you are a senior and you attended Drew Elementary School for all or most of your elementary grades, you may fill out an application for this $1,000 scholarship. Applications can be picked up in Guidance and must be returned to Drew Elementary by 3:00 PM on Friday, March 2, 2018.

 

Anyone who was unable to sign up for the blood drive may still do so by stopping by Mrs. Clark's room #3205 in the Science Wing. 16 year old donors need to returned their signed permission form to Mrs. Clark as soon as possible.

 

Get your yearbook pre-ordered online through GoRebs or $65 cash to Miss Kiper in room 6204. The price will increase soon! Pick up your senior baby ad forms outside room 6204. Deadline is Nov. 1st

If you have HOCO proposal pictures you'd like in the yearbook, send them to kiper@opsb.net with the students' names and a good caption. We also need summer pictures, senior week, and link crew/freshman orientation.

 

Tadpoles interested in performing in the Homecoming Assembly should sign up outside Mrs. Cavin's door and pick up an info sheet this week.

 

The annual See You At The Pole celebration is this Wednesday beginning at 7am in the new gym. Students from all over the country will be gathering for this day of worship, fellowship, and celebration. Plus,FCS always has chicken biscuits for the people who show up the earliest. So make plans to be at school at 7 on Wednesday for See You at the Pole.

 

The cross country teams were back in action last weekend at the airline cross country festival. Racing against the number-one ranked team in the state, Kirsten Elrod finished fourth overall. Other top finishers for the girls were Hannah Hudnall and Anna Grace McDuffie. Ethan Newberry and Christian Girod led the boys to a fifth place finish. Freshman Daniel Rowland was also a top finisher for the Rebels.
