The National Honor Society will have its first meeting on Wednesday, September 14 at 6:00 in the library.
- This meeting is MANDATORY.
- T-shirt orders will be placed during the meeting. The cost is 16.00 cash to be paid in cash at the meeting.
- All members must come by Ms. Rodgers’ room 1205 TODAY to pick up an information packet prior to the meeting.
Attention all students taking a dual enrollment class through ULM: Your fall payment is due to Mrs. Hunt in room #4209 NO LATER THAN Thursday, Sept. 15th. All payments must be a check or money order made out to ULM, and your full name should be on the check/money order.
You will only pay for classes that you are taking this semester. So, the following will be paid NEXT semester: statistics, the second half of pre-calc., and the second half of English.
The Ouachita Parish School Board will be paying for one DE class for all JUNIORS and SENIORS this semester. That's $150 less what you thought you'd be paying!

Biology Club listen up. We have extended the deadline for you guys to come by and pay your $15 Biology Club dues until Tuesday, Sept 13th. Come by and see Mrs. Knox or Mrs. Wyatt to order your Biology club t-shirt. This is for everyone who was in the club last year, plus all the new members who completed all their tadpole hours last year. Welcome to the Biology Club!
We will also have a biology club meeting Tuesday night at 6:30 under the boardwalk. Don't wear fancy clothes because we will be painting rocks. Meeting should last only about 30
Applications for Habitat for Humanity can now be picked up from Mrs. Duke in room 3209 or Mr. Aswell in room 5206. Completed applications are due to either room on Sept. 21st.
We are pleased to announce the following winners in the Art Club election. Treasurer is Daisha Crooks, Member at Large is Kaylee Grassi, Secretary is Heather Hodges, Parliamentarian is Joshua Whitlock, and Vice President is Morgan Oden. There will be a run off election for President. The election will be Tuesday in Mrs. Ganley's room. You may come before school or at either lunch shift to vote. Congratulations to our new 2016/17 Art Club officers.
Yearbook picture and ID retakes will be Tuesday, Sept. 13th. Picture times have changed and will begin at 9:00 a.m. Grades will be called over the intercom starting with seniors. If this is the first time to photograph, the service is free. If this is a picture retake, you must pay $5. Teachers, make sure students vote for homecoming court before they take their picture.
Students, if you took an AP test in May of this year and scored a 3, 4, or 5 on any of those tests, you are invited to a pizza lunch in your honor during second lunch Tuesday, September 13th in the foyer of the main office. The administration will be providing Johnny's Pizza and a drink just for you! Your AP teachers are also invited and Mr. Ainsworth will be speaking to you. You will be receiving an invitation through either your 5th or 1st period teacher. Don't miss it!
Freshman, this Thursday you will be voting for your student council class officers. Your class candidates have posters hung on the boardwalk. Familiarize yourselves with the candidates so you can vote in your new 9th grade President and Vice President.
Winners will be announced Friday.

Students, the first meeting for our competition robotics team, Magnatech 3468, will be Tuesday, Sept. 13 in the MAGNAtech building. This meeting is for returning members ONLY. Please do everything in your power to attend. If you are not available, there will be a follow up meeting in Mrs. Bell's room (7102) on Wednesday morning that you MUST attend. Again, this is for returning members ONLY.
Anyone interested in joining the Competition robotics team, MAGNAtech 3468, should go to the Robotics page under Clubs and Organizations on Gorebs.org and complete the application. The application is digital. Hand-written or printed applications WILL NOT be accepted. Please complete the application by Tuesday, Sept. 21st. You will be contacted after that date regarding the status of your application.
All senior students interested pharmacy need to register to attend PharmFUTURE 2016. The ULM School of Pharmacy will host this event on September 19 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Registration if free! Check with English IV, Pre-calculus, and Calculus teachers for more information. A flyer is also available in Guidance.
10th-12th Grade Junior Civitans who are interested in participating in the People with Special Needs Day at the Ark-LA-Miss Fair may pick up permission forms outside Mrs. Beach's room (6206). Only the first 25 completed forms will be allowed to go. The deadline to return forms is September 16th.
