Tomorrow is the last day to get your candy grams so go out to the boardwalk during first or second lunch to get yours. You can also go to Mrs. Jones room 5202 between classes to purchase one.

 

Are you interested in 10 days in Europe during the summer of 2018? If so, there will be an informational meeting on Thursday February 23rd at 6:00 in the WMHS library. Please make every effort to attend as the sign up deadline is fast approaching. 

 

Attention all students taking an AP class: Your AP Questionnaire, which allows you to be considered for an AP exam scholarship, is due THIS WEEK! Please turn it in to any AP teacher. Don't miss out on this opportunity to save $93!

 

Sign up for the WMHS Blood Drive will be today at both lunch shifts outside of the cafeteria. Remember, you MUST sign up to donate during an elective hour. If you sign up during a core course, you will not be able to donate.  The Blood Drive will be in the auditorium on Wednesday, February 15th and Thursday, February 16th.

 

Half day seniors as well as others who might not have the chance to sign up for the Blood Drive, may do so with Mrs. Clark in room 3205.

 

ProStart is now taking applications for the 2017-2018 school year. You can pick up an application from Mrs. Cheveallier in room 6104. Applications must be turned in no later than3 pm onFebruary 13, 2017. You must have passed FACS 1 and II and Food and Nutrition to be eligible.

 

Seniors, don't forget the upcoming Senior Information Night scheduled for tonight in the auditorium. Beginning at 5:30, a LOFSA representative will give updates on the TOPS program. At 6:15, financial aid counselors from the area will be in WMHS computer labs to help you and your parents complete the FAFSA. Seniors, be sure to assist your parent or guardian in obtaining a FSA ID number before the meeting so that your FAFSA can be completed on this night.

Do you still need your community service hours? Go to our club page on gorebs.org to learn more about an upcoming community service project. Click on the link to sign up to participate in the Great American Clean Up which will be held on Saturday, March 18. 

You must sign up online before March 1 to participate. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Rodgers in room 1205.

 

WMHS Art Club will meet this Thursday, February 9 in Mrs. Ganley's room. We will make valentines for servicemen. Make plans to attend and have a ride home at 4:00pm. See you then.

 

The Special Needs school store will be open next Monday. It is located in the cafeteria and will be open during both lunch shifts. For more information come by room 2106.

 

The West Monroe High School football team will be having their annual football banquet Thursday February 16, 2017. It will be held at the West Monroe convention Center at 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased in the main office for $20 each and tables of 8 can be reserved for $200.

 

Students taking the ACT need to be aware of the new NO cell phone/NO electronic device policy in effect. No one may handle or access a cell phone or electronic device during testing or during break time. This includes smart watches, fitness bands, and any other device with recording, internet, or communication capabilities. If you are seen with a cell phone or other electronic device in any testing center classroom or hallway on test day, you will be dismissed, your test will be voided, and your phone or electronic device may be taken away. If you are taking the ACT, please make arrangements prior to Saturday in order to comply with this new policy.

 

2017-2018 Spirit Group Applications are NOW available in the main office. If you have any interest in become a West Monroe Cheerleader, Dancer, or Rebelette member, please pick up the packets and ready all the information carefully! Applications and fees are due Friday, February 24th by 3:30 in the main office.

 

Prom 2017 is schedule for Thursday, April 13that the WM Convention Center. The theme for this years prom is Around the World in One Night. Visit different places such as Morocco, Italy, Costa Rica, China, and more in JUST ONE NIGHT! Pictures of ideas will be posted outside of Ms. Wyatt room 3201 if you'd like to get an idea. If you are interested in helping plan, ticket sales, or decorating or have suggestions to make this the best prom ever, please fill out an information sheet outside of her room.
