Freshmen students,

You will receive a yellow scheduling packet in your English I classes Thursday. Please take this packet home to your parents and look through the information together, so you are prepared for selecting your classes for next year. Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Grant will begin scheduling you for your sophomore year Feb. 2- 8.


Only a few days left to pre-order your yearbook! Visit or bring $70 cash to room 6204 by next Tuesday.There will be a limited number of extra books ordered and you don't want to miss out on this amazing book! We're asking that you sendus any pictures from your summer vacation, the choir's NY trip last May, pics of students in theCNA course, and any pictures of extra-curricular activities. We also need swim pictures and boys powerlifting. Email them to kiper@opsb.netor tag us on Instagram. There are also still a few open spots for senior baby ads. If you are interested, pick up a form in Miss Kiper's room. These MUST be returned by next Tuesday. Can Robert Scott Foust and Ashlen Cady report to room 6204 at this time for 5 minutes?


Seniors, new scholarships are available in Guidance! George Welch, Good Hope, Drew Elementary, Claiborne, and 4 separate Southern University, Baton Rouge campus, are now available for pickup.


Deadlines are approaching so stop by today!


A Drivers Education class will be taught at Good Hope Middle School in the Library. This class will be taught by Mike Robbins. The dates for this class are: 

February 6-10   3:30-6:30

February 13-16  3:30-6:30

February 21     3:30-6:30

Sign up is at Good Hope Middle School and here at West Monroe High School. Sign up at Good Hope will be from 8-3. Parents must have an original birth certificate, original social security card, and a valid drivers license when signing up. Cost for the class is $295 payable by cashiers check, money order, or cash. Deadline to sign up is February 3, 2017.


If youve got the inclination to draw, design, problem-solve and create things, you should think about taking Computer Aided Design (CAD).This class will allow students to discover for themselves the potential of 3D printing through a build intensive design project. This course is an excellent option for anyone who ever wanted to prototype an invention, create a work of art, customize a product or just make something cool! Come see Mrs. Beach at the Electives Fair on February 1 for more details!


Student council will be selling candy grams on the boardwalk during both lunches. The candy grams will include a card and candy this year. You will have two card styles to choose from. They are $1.00 and will be delivered to the recipients during 2nd hour on Valentine's Day.


If you are senior and plan on participating in the graduation ceremony on May 11, you need graduation supplies. If you have not ordered your supplies from the Graduate Shop, you have until February 3rdto do so. After that, the price increases to $85.Call or stop by the Graduate Shop as quickly as possible.


Attention Seniors:

Albritton Photography will be on campus next week to take cap and gown pictures. These pictures are for any seniors who have not had a cap and gown picture taken at Albrittons.  These pictures are used in the slide show during the graduation ceremony. Students will have the option of buying these pictures: the proofs will be mailed home.  

The schedule for pictures is

Mrs. Barrons and Mr. Reids classes, as well as any other senior not in a senior English class, on Wednesday, February 1 and Mrs. Hunts, Mrs. Rodgers, and Mrs. Rutledges classes on Thursday, February 2.  

Boys should try to wear a shirt and tie (at least a button-down shirt).  Girls should try to wear a V-neck or scoop-neck top that wont be seen under the gown.  Both boys and girls should have clean, neat fingernails.  Piercings, other than girls ears, are not allowed.

Attention all second semester dual enrollment students:

Good News! The Ouachita Parish School Board will once again fund ONE dual enrollment course for all juniors and seniors. To see which class is being funded, please check with one of your dual enrollment teachers; each DE teacher has a list. After determining which class is funded, make appropriate payments to Mrs. Hunt for classes through ULM and Mr. Aswell for classes through LA Tech. Only checks and money orders will be taken for payment- NO CASH! Also, be sure to write your full name on your payment.Tuition payments are due no later thanFriday, February 3rd.
