Blood Drive sign up is today and tomorrow, September 29 and 30 at both lunch shifts. You must have parental permission if you are 16 and wish to donate. 17 years old and above do not need parental permission. The blood drive will be held October 5 and 6th in the new gym lobby.
Attention Character Counts Members. T-Shirt Order Forms are available in the library, room 6205 or in room 1216. The cost is $15.00. All orders are due by Thursday, Oct 6th. Also, there will be Character Counts Club meetings in room 6205 on Tuesday, October 4th at 7:30 am and 3:15 pm. Members must attend one of these meetings.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) can now be submitted as early as October 1. Discover Student Loans is hosting a FREE webinar, College Financial Aid 101, on October 5th & 8th from 6:00-8:00to help students and families make sense of the new changes to the FAFSA and the financial aid process.
West Monroe High School will participate in the national administration of the PSAT on October 19th. This test is designed to recognize high achieving 10th and 11th grade students throughout the county. The cost for this test is $20 cash payable to 10th and 11th grade English teachers through October 7th. We have only a limited number of tests so don't hesitate to register.
Next week, October 3 - 7, the WMHS JCL will be sponsoring a book drive collecting new and gently used books to help several Ascension and Livingston Parish school libraries rebuild after losing everything in the flood. The attached flyer will be placed in your boxes this afternoon/tomorrow. It would be greatly appreciated if you would post the flyer and encourage your students to participate. We will collect books on Friday October 7 during the end of first hour. I will send an email first thing Friday morning; please plan to reply to that email if you have books to be collected so that we can know where to go. The winning homeroom will celebrate with a doughnut party on Wednesday, October 12.
If you are interested in being a member of the Rebel Nation student section the cost is $5.00 and can be paid this week either in the main office to Mrs. Thompson or Mrs. Kahman before lunch or during both lunch shifts outside on the Rebel Boardwalk. This does not get you into the games, only into the student section. Your money goes towards the purchase of noise makers, costumes and décor for the themes.
