Attention Rebels!

The Student Council and Spirit Groups are bringing back the PowderPuff football game to West Monroe on Monday, November 13th at 5:30pm. We are looking for 24 girls per grade interested in playing on the football team and 10 guys per grade who would like to cheer and dance. If you are interested, we will begin signing students up at both lunch shifts on Wednesday, November 1st. The first 24 girls to sign up AND pay $10.00 per grade will be allowed to participate. The first 10 guys per grade to sign up AND pay $10.00 will participate on the cheer team. Student Council and Spirit Groups are selling tickets to the game for $5.00. It should be a great time and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Louisiana Muscular Dystrophy Association. We can't wait to see ya'll at the games!

Mississippi State University is offering the Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program (METP)  Scholarship designed to prepare teacher candidates for the education profession. Qualified high school applicants must have a 28 or above on their ACT and a 3.5 GPA. The award covers full tuition, books, room and board, and incidental expenses for four years of attendance along with a one-time technology stipend. On November 20th Mississippi State will be hosting the annual METP Scholars Day on Campus for high school seniors who are interested. The link to register is on today's announcement page on GoRebs.org and must be done by Friday, Nov. 10th.

We are pleased to inform you that the online application for the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is now available at www.jackierobinson.org.

To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:

Be a graduating, minority high school senior

Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States

Show leadership potential

Demonstrate a dedication to community service

Present evidence of financial need

Be a United States citizen

Have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21

The deadline to submit the application for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship isFebruary 1, 2018 by 4:00 PM.

Don't delay because deadlines for these scholarships range from November 17 to January 31.
