The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a comprehensive career planning program that includes a multiple aptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various career planning tools designed to help students explore the world of work. The ASVAB will be administered to Juniorsat West Monroe High School onMonday, September 19th. There is NO CHARGE for the test but you must pre-register with your American History teacher, Mr. Kennedy, or Col. Buck byFriday, September 9th. We do encourage all juniors to participate in the ASVAB as it is an outstanding career guide.Seniors who would like to retest or test for the first time should see Mrs. Taylor, Mr. Reid,or Col. Buck.
Students interested in joining Junior Civitans must turn in all forms and fees at our after school meeting onTuesday, September 6th, room 6206. You will also sign up for your shift at the fair at that time.We will have a table set up outside Mrs. Beach's room to take up fees, forms, sign up for the fair, and t-shirtorders.
The National Honor Society will have its first meeting on Wednesday, September 14 at 6:00 in the library.
This meeting is MANDATORY.
T-shirt orders will be placed during the meeting. The cost is 16.00 cash to be paid in cash at the meeting.
All members must come by Ms. Rodgers room 1205 by Friday, September 9 to pick up an information packet prior to the meeting.
If you found your name on the Tadpole list outside Mrs. Cavin's door, you must pay the $20 fee byTuesday, September 6th. NO LATE FEES WILL BE ACCEPTED!
If you did not pick up your student ID, stop by room 6204 BETWEEN classes. IDs are divided by grade and alphabet.
Yearbooks are still on sale for $65. You can stop by room 6204 between class to pre-order yours. We can only accept cash at this time. You can also order online with a debit or credit card. Go to www.gorebs.org and follow link to order under School News.
Homecoming Dance this year will be on Saturday, October 15th. That's the day after the homecoming game. It will be held from 8-11 in the WMHS New Gym. The theme of the dance this year is Blast from the Past and will have a 50's vibe. The decor of the gym will that of a 50's diner. You are welcome to wear modern day semi formal wear or you can go all out with the 50s theme. Some even plan to do a mix of the two with a modern dress but then with a 50's ponytail look. Guys are welcome to do the white t-shirt, jeans and leather jacket look too. Or dress up with a tie and dress pants.
Fellowship of Christian Students meets tomorrow. Don't let the short week throw you off. Tomorrow is Wednesday! You don't have to sign up or pay any dues just meet starting at 7:15 in the classroom next to KREB. See you in the the morning.
Coach Osborne will start signing students up for his next drivers Ed class starting tomorrow!
Here's how you can sign up, come to PE gym before school or between classes 1st thru 3rd periods! Must have 295.00 dollars with you when you sign up. Cash or money order only!
The class will start the following week! Hurry as the class will fill quick!
Art club will meet in Mrs. Ganley's room 1109 this Thursday at 3:15 to elect officers. The meeting will end shortly before 4:00pm. Be sure your ride knows the ending time. Your $10.00 dues are due as soon as possible.
ALL HOMECOMING COURT NOMINEES MUST COME BY THE MAIN OFFICE TODAY TO VERIFY THE SPELLING OF THEIR NAME ON THE BALLOT!
