If you were a member of biology club last year, you are still in the club. No need to reapply. If you were a tadpole last year and you completed your service hours with Mrs. Cavin, you have been added to the Biology Club roster. Mrs. Knox will be posting a list outside her room, 3109, so that you can verify. It is time to pay club dues and to order your Biology Club T-shirt. $15 is due to Mrs. Knox by next Friday, Sept. 9th.
Any student that didn't pick up their student ID at lunch on Monday or Tuesday, can stop by room 6204 between classes to pick up their ID. If you did not take your picture, you will not have an ID.
Yearbook and ID retakes will be September 13th starting at 7:30 a.m. in the Main Office Lobby. If you have not taken your picture, this service is free of charge. If you do not like the picture on your ID, you will be charged $5 for retakes.
If you would like to join Spanish Club, see Mrs. Ballance in room 2207 for information. You must be in Spanish 2 now or have completed 2 years of Spanish to join. The cost is $15 and includes a t-shirt.

On Wednesday, September 7th, you will be attending the annual College and Career Day at ULM. You will ride a bus to ULM and return by bus to WMHS. You will be dismissed at 8:15 and return at approximately 10:30. BE SURE THAT YOU ASK YOUR SENIOR ENGLISH TEACHER THE BUS NUMBER YOU WILL BE RIDING ON. Please look your best for this event.
Habitat for Humanity is a service organization that seeks to eliminate substandard housing from the world and make decent shelter available to everyone. If you are interested in joining Habitat for Humanity we will have a meeting Thursday, September 1st at 7:30 am in room 3209.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a comprehensive career planning program that includes a multiple aptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various career planning tools designed to help students explore the world of work. The ASVAB will be administered to Juniors at West Monroe High School on Monday, September 19th. There is NO CHARGE for the test but you must pre-register with your American History teacher, Mr. Kennedy, or Col. Buck by Friday, September 9th. We do encourage all juniors to participate in the ASVAB as it is an outstanding career guide. Seniors who would like to retest or test for the first time should see Mrs. Taylor, Mr. Reid, or Col. Buck.

All current and prospective student council members: There is a meeting this Thursday at 6:30 pm in the WMHS library. If you are planning on running for freshman officer or representative you must be at this meeting. The meeting for prospective members will end at 7 so make sure you have a ride to pick you up at that time.
Athletic Passes are being sold in Coach Walker’s room 1221 and coach McDuffie’s room 5207, and Coach Arledge’s room before school and during lunch. Athletic passes get students into all regular season, home games at West Monroe, not just football, all sports. Save money and buy yours today, $20.
Jr. Civitan club: The WMHS Junior Civitan club is a service organization for students. Members make a difference by volunteering at school, participating in community outreach projects, and helping people with developmental disabilities. If you are interested in joining, we will have our first meeting today in room 6206 immediately after school.
Attention all students taking a dual enrollment class through ULM:
Your fall payment is due to Mrs. Hunt in room #4209 NO LATER THAN Thursday, Sept. 15th. All payments must be a check or money order made out to ULM, and your full name should be on the check/money order.
You will only pay for classes that you are taking this semester. So, the following will be paid NEXT semester: statistics, the second half of pre-calc., and the second half of English.
The Ouachita Parish School Board will be paying for one DE class for all JUNIORS and SENIORS this semester. That's $150 less what you thought you'd be paying!
