Students and Teachers, if you've ever been interested in Amateur Radio, otherwise known as Ham Radio, we have a great opportunity for you! On November 17th we will have a day of lessons followed by the licensing test for only $10. Find Mrs. Cavin in Room 3204 or 7103 for more information!

The Freshmen Boys' Basketball team will be holding tryouts in the old gym today from 3:30-4:30 in the old gym.  This tryout is only open to Freshmen.

Students, if you want to stay in the know about school related matters, sign up for calendar alerts.  You can get a notice for events added to the school’s calendar, the guidance calendar or both.  It’s the best way to know what is going on around campus.  You or your parents would benefit from being a Facebook friend to West Monroe High School.  Announcements are made to that social media site and twitter. You can find all of this information and more at gorebs.org.

Seniors, remember that Lab #2102 will be open for two more Wednesday afternoons in periods 5, 6 and 7.  Get help completing the FAFSA and college applications.  Your parents are welcome to come at this time for support with the process as well.

There will be an art club meeting in Mrs. Ganley's room after school on Thursday.  We are making a craft and we need an exact number of members attending so we may purchase enough supplies. If you can make it to Thursday's meeting, please stop by Mrs. Ganley's room and sign the list.  Again, Art Club meeting this Thursday in Mrs. Ganley's room.   See you there.

National Buy Your Yearbook Day is Thursday, October 25th.  Sales will begin second period.  The first 30 people to order will receive color changing cups, and anyone who places a yearbook order that day will be entered into drawings for Chick fil A cards.  Don't miss out on your book of memories!

It’s national chemistry week!!
You may have seen a few superheroes on Monday. It was “molevenger” day.
Today (Tuesday) is “moley potter” day. 61 chemistry students kicked off mole day with breakfast at 6:02 this morning.  Watch out for your sleepy magicians on campus today.
Wednesday is “moledi gra” day. Thursday is “rock n mole” day.  Friday is “pi ala mole” day

Attention National Honor Society Members.   This is the week of our food drive that benefits Grace's Place and the Cancer League.  Please bring your donation to Ms. Lovelady in room 3202 by Friday, October 26.  A detailed list of the items required for your donation is on the NHS page on gorebs.org.

Henry David Thoreau once said, “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”  Jacob Tyler Graves, you are on your way to becoming a success in whatever you do.  Congratulations are definitely in order. Jacob has been accepted to Louisiana Tech University with a Merit Scholarship totaling $8,000 over the course of four years.  Students, remember that you may be eligible for a merit scholarship, the Louisiana TOPS scholarship and Federal Financial aid.  That money will only mean something to you if you actually apply to college.  Don’t delay!

Let’s congratulate today’s winners for college application completion.  Hannah Vance, you have won a gift certificate to Cara’s Boutique in West Monroe.  Report to Check in/Check out to pick up your award.  We are so proud of you for completing your college application early.  Treat yourself to something fabulous at Cara’s.

Tremell Allen II, this is your lucky day as well.  You have won a gift card to Chick-fil-A.  Enjoy a meal and contemplate the great future before you.  Thanks for applying to college early.  Tremell already understands the significance of a quote by Bo Bennett, “A dream becomes a goal when action is taken towards its achievement.”

Seniors, Lab #2102 will be open today for periods 5, 6 and 7.  Bring your buddies and let a counselor help you complete your FAFSA or a college application.  Also remember that the Library will be open on November 1st from 5:30 – 7:30 for you and your parents to get help completing the FAFSA.  We will have financial aid representatives on hand to answer questions.  Your parents must bring their 2017 tax return.  They do not have to share the tax information with anyone; they will simply need it to answer a few questions.

Seniors, November first is the last day to turn in baby ads!

Get your name in the drawing for a Chick fil A card when you buy a yearbook Thursday during National Buy Your Yearbook Day.  Sales begin second period and last all day.  The first 30 people to order will also receive color changing cups.
