Just a reminder that applications for the mayor’s youth council are due to the mayor’s office on November 1st. You may pick up an application at the West Monroe City Hall! This opportunity is open to all 10-12 grade students!

Attention all Juniors and Seniors, The Savannah College of Art & Design (also known as SCAD) will be on campus on Monday, October 21st.  A representative of the school will be giving a presentation to students about all of the design programs the school has to offer.  So, if you are interested in any area of design (graphic design, interior design, production design, film & television, fashion, animation, or fine arts) then plan to attend the presentation on Monday, October 21st during 4th period in Mrs. Lengefeld's room 1109.  Students who attend the presentation will be given excuses to present to your 4th hour teacher upon return to class.  So, if you have any interest in a design career, come and hear about what SCAD has to offer!

Just a reminder to all Amateur Radio Club members, don't forget to pick up a field trip permission form from Mrs. Cavin in Room 3204. There are some outside the door. If you'd like to order an Amateur Radio t-shirt don’t forget to stop by and talk to Mrs. Cavin.

Attention all biology and interact members, If you are planning to travel with Mrs. Knox to California this spring, the $350 deposit is due Tuesday, Oct 22nd. This deposit is due for every student and every chaperone that is planning to go. When you bring your deposit you will receive a packet of paperwork that will be forwarded to the travel agent. For more information about the trip go to GoRebs and look under the Interact or Biology Club tabs.

Just a reminder to all teachers and students, Next week will be a short week after fall break.  Let's celebrate by eating some great food at Catfish Charlie's on Thursday, October 17th!  Our West Monroe Golf team is having a fund raiser, and you can help!  Just bring your ticket with you between the hours of 10:30am and 8:30pm to Catfish Charlie's on Louisville Avenue.  (Teachers, you will have a ticket in your box the morning of the 17th and anyone else can get one from a golf player.)  Our golfers will receive 25% of sales, and will also be there serving from 4-8pm to earn tips.  So come and get some great fried catfish, and also help out our WMHS golf team!

Homecoming Dance tickets will go on sale next Friday, October 18th during both lunch shifts.

You can buy a ticket for you and your date as long as you have both go to West Monroe and you have both of your ID's with you at the time. School ID or driver's license is acceptable.

If you are trying to bring a date that is not a Rebel, you must print out a form from GoRebs or stop by Mrs. Knox's room 3109 to pick up the extra paperwork. It is available for pick up now.

If they go to another high school, they must have the form signed by their school and faxed back to WMHS. So don't wait until the last day or they may not get to come. Handle that as soon as possible.

If your date is a past graduate of WMHS, you must have a form signed by a faculty member listed as part of the Homecoming committee.

Remember that no middle schoolers , no students that have been sent to OPAC, and anyone who can not get a clean background check at the courthouse ARE NOT ALLOWED!!!

Attention all Junior Civitans: if you signed up to help at the Claiborne Elementary Fall Festival on November 2nd, please check our Google Classroom page to sign up for specific shifts.

Also, our next meeting will be October 31st at 7:20am. Hall Passes and more information to come as the date gets closer.

Congratulations to Anthony Hearod (Pronounced Hear - odd).  Anthony has received his letter of acceptance to Louisiana Tech University.   His goal is to pursue a degree in Cyber Engineering.  What an amazing field of study you plan to explore!  Best of luck as you transition from Rebel to Bulldog.

Congratulations are also in order for some additional winners for college application month.  Let's celebrate with those who have applied to college and had their name drawn yesterday.  Report to Mrs. Ramsey in guidance once the announcements are done.

Landis Alexander - You have won a free game shirt from The Rebel Store.

Kamryn Gustinger - Chick-fil-A has invited you to be there guest with a meal card. You are also getting a 103.1 NOW FM radio T-shirt.

Colton Byrd - You get to clean up your ride at Car Wash West on Cypress Street in West Monroe.  Get your Rebel shine on.

Connor Broussard - Winner, winner - Chicken Dinner.  You are getting a box card from Raising Cane's in West Monroe along with a T-shirt from  92.3, The Wolf radio station.

Brooklyn Teer - You have won two sets of beautiful earrings from one of our favorite, new local artisans - Bethany Jett.  Her company name is Bethany and the Jetts which we think is super cool.

Seniors - Best of luck to all of you for the drawings to come.  Remember to feed your focus and starve your distraction.  Apply to college while the help is available and the push is on.  We have three Wednesdays left for support in Lab #2102.  Show your senior spirit by wearing your college shirts each Wednesday as well.  Offer help to others that may be a little behind on the process to give a peer some peace of mind.

If you have not yet applied to LA Tech, representatives will be in Lab #2102 next Thursday, 10/17 from 11:49 AM - 3:00 PM.  This is your time to get your applications complete and your questions answered.

Bossier Community College will be in the STAR Lab on Wing 4 upstairs next Friday, 10/18.  If you are looking to start at a community college and want to know the difference between Delta and Bossier Parish Community College, stop by to see them.  We will have an exact time soon.   It's worth knowing that each college offers different areas of training.  The same holds true for large universities, private institutions and community colleges.
