The Rebels did very well at the 1st track meet of the season. The girls team came away with 1st place overall at Benton.

Paige McKoin came in 2nd in the 200meter dash. In girls hurdles Kylie Knox came away with 1st place in the 300meter and Riley Jo Hall took 2nd in the 100meter Blaise LaCaze jumped to 1st place in the high jump and 2nd place in the long jump. With Ella Pennebaker taking 1st place in the long jump. In the 1600meter Faith Scarborough came away with a 2nd place finish. In the 3200 WM had Alexus Sims in 3rd place. In the girls relay, West Monroe got 1st place in the 4by800. This group includes Gabrielle Holt, Laura Katherine Dupuy, Anna Grace McDuffie, Alexus Sims. West Monroe girls took 2nd place in both the 4by200 and 4by100 and the 4by400. These groups include Tanisha Glass, Makaya Glass, Ireneisa Turner, Ella Pennebaker and Elayah Honeycutt

In boys track, Orlando Jackson took 2nd place in the 200meter dash. Matthew McAlisster took 3rd place in the 100meter dash, Hayden Williams jumped into 2nd place on the pole vaults. The boys 4by400 relay team came in 2nd and the 4by200 relay team came in 3rd place. This group includes Orlando Jackson, Javari Sanders, Tristian Rushing and Jason Cooper.In the 3200meter run Baylor Picard came in 2nd and Christian Grant took 3rd. 

Seniors on the Jump Start Tops Tech Pathway - If you have already received your NCCER credential and intend to pursue a career in a construction pathway program, remember the deadline for the Jump Start Construction Connect Scholars Program is Wednesday, 3/18.  One thousand dollars could be yours.  Find the link at gorebs.org or on our FB page.  You can also pick up a copy in guidance.

Senior African American Girls - Every year Omicron Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. presents young ladies who have maintained high GPA's with scholarships.  The requirements are very specific.  If you have at least a 3.0 GPA, a 20 on your ACT and possess strong leadership skills, pick up an application in guidance today for more details.  The deadline is April 26, 2020.  Let's represent West Monroe High School!

All students currently at West Monroe High School - Are you interested in attending Grambling University?  Their High School day will be here before you know it.  Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21st.  If you would like to participate, check out the link on our Facebook page or pick up a form in the guidance office.  If you register by March 25th, the cost is $25.00.  After that point, it will be $30.  You will get to  enjoy all the activities for the day and get a -T-shirt, meal ticket and game ticket. If you would like to take a bus to this event, pick up the permission form in guidance also.  The bus will leave from Wossman High at 7:30 AM and return around 6:30 PM on the 21st of March.  You cannot ride the bus without the permission slip.

All students - You attendance is very important this week since scheduling for the 2020 - 2021 school year will begin.  Today, students in Grade 11 will be meeting in the auditorium at specific times by the first letter of your last name.  Listen carefully so you do not miss your opportunity.  Sophomores will meet in the auditorium at set times tomorrow and Freshmen will do so on Wednesday.  The course selection fair will be Thursday.  Spend you time wisely exploring your options this week.  You need to review the course description guide, ask questions and choose with care.  After May 1st you WILL NOT be able to change your requests.  The master schedule is built based on your choices, so we cannot change your schedule because you changed your mind next year.  Allow this time to be fun and think about what classes may be of interest to you or which ones will help you fulfill a future college or career goal.  

On Tuesday, March 3rd, the choirs of West Monroe High School took part in the Louisiana Music Educators District Large Ensemble Assessment. The Beginning Boys, Beginning Girls, and Rebel Choir had to perform three songs before a panel of three judges and read a piece of music that they've never seen for a rating. The Beginning Boys received straight superior ratings in performance and sightreading. This assessment rating allowed them to receive a superior Sweepstakes trophy. Congratulations gentlemen. The Beginning Girls received straight superior ratings in performance and sightr-eading. This assessment rating allowed them to receive a superior Sweepstakes trophy. Congratulations ladies. The Rebel Choir received straight superior ratings in performance and sight-reading. This assessment rating allowed them to receive a superior Sweepstakes trophy. Congratulations Rebel Choir.  This continues the Rebel Choir performance rating streak of straight sweepstakes rating for over 25 years. Congratulations to Mrs. Freeman, Mrs. Oden, and Mr. Oden for their hard work. Way to go Choir. The Rebel Choirs next performance will be on March 17, they will be in concert with the LSU A Cappella Choir at Grace Episcopal Church. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
