News from the Guidance Department:.


  • Ms. Maggie Willis, our ULM recruiter, shared this wonderful ACT Workshop opportunity for our WMHS Juniors and Seniors. This ACT Workshop is a great way for our students to prepare for the upcoming March and April ACT tests. Also, the first 100 students can register for FREE! See more info below:

EVENT: ACT WORKSHOP (for Northeast LA students)

LOCATION: ULM Campus, George T. Walker Hall

DATE: Saturday, March 9th 

TIME: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

  • The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority scholarship is due tomorrow, And the Grambling State University Scholarship is due Friday.

  • All students are reminded that the deadline for registering for the April ACT is this Friday. 


Sports News: 


  • Our baseball team emerged 4-0 from the Trey Altick Classic over the weekend. They took home a win on friday against John Curtis 2-1, and on saturday they beat Hahnville 9-2 and Destrehan 5-4. They will be at OCS tomorrow in a big midweek game. This weekend they will be competing in the Jay Patterson tournament and that puts them at East Ascension playing Parkview Baptist Thursday, at St. Amant playing Mandeville on Friday and at Dutchtown playing Dutchtown and Shaw on Saturday.

  • Softball traveled down to the Acadiana tournament and came home boasting a 3-0 record. They beat Walker 17-4, Dominican 8-2, and Beau Chaine 5-4. Our Softball girls will start district play against Pineville Tomorrow at home. They’ll be at West Ouachita Thursday, and at Calvary in a tournament this weekend

  • The WMHS Varsity Golf team will be competing at Bayou Desiard today.

  • Tennis will play tomorrow at Neville, and Thursday at home vs Oak Grove. 

  • Our track team competes in the Van Leigh Relays, which will be held at Neville High School on Friday.

  • The Air Force JROTC competed in the Sterlington Panther Invitational Archery Tournament this past weekend. Congratulations to Cadet Desari Lucky who placed first in the eleventh grade girls division, second in female division, and third overall males and females!



Club and Organization News:


  • Registration Packets for Cheer Tryouts are in the Main Office for any student interested in trying out for the 2024-2025 WMHS Cheer Squad. Registration packets are due on the first day of Tryouts, payments can be made online at Tryouts are on March 11, 18, 19 

  • FCS/FCA meet this Wednesday

  • ROTC is doing Reville Wednesday morning at the flagpole

  • Attention Student Council members: Please do not forget that Wednesday all Coca-Cola fundraiser money must be turned in between first and fourth hours.  We will make an announcement in Google classroom as to where you will come to turn in your money.  Don’t forget to check with your teachers to see if they would like to purchase a case or two. Many teachers have not been asked if they would like to buy a case.
