Interact Club - Today is the last day for those who want to apply for membership to bring their food donation items to get their name on the ballot. Applicants should drop donations by Mrs. Knox’s Room (3109) and sign the paperwork for their grade. No names will be added to the ballot after today.

All prospective AND returning Student Council members must complete the form linked in the QR code by Friday, September 13th. Flyers are posted around campus. Any students interested in running for office, stop by Mrs. Nix's room 3105 for more information. Acceptance Letters will go out the last week of September.

Freshmen, WMHS will be hosting a mixer for the Freshman Class on August 30th from 7-10 in the Edgewood Building. This is a great opportunity to come meet new people, dance, and have a great time. Attire will be your favorite West Monroe gear and jeans or school appropriate shorts. Tickets will be $ 10 and will go on sale soon. So, Class of 2028, plan to attend this Freshmen event on August 30 from 7-10 in the Edgewood Building. English teachers have QR codes posted in their classrooms for ticket sales and song requests. Students interested in joining the Junior Civitan club will have our first meeting on August 27th at 3:15 in room 6206. If you cannot attend the meeting, you can stop by Mrs. Beach's room any day after the 27th to pick up a membership packet. All new and returning members must complete a membership packet. Forms and fees are due September 6th.

Seniors, your counselors will be meeting with you through your English classes this week for a transcript review. This is an exciting time to be a senior and we want to make sure you have your "Ducks in a Row" for graduation!

Painted parking spots are still available. The cost is still $100 to reserve, and you can swing by the library for more information!

One tradition here at WMHS is the annual Homecoming Assembly. In just a few weeks, we will be holding auditions for students who want to perform in the assembly. If you can sing, dance, or play a mean guitar, we want you to sign up. There are QR codes posted in each hallway and in the music building. Sign ups close this today.

The annual Bayou Jamb football game is coming up August 31 in Malone Stadium on the ULM campus. Tickets are now on sale in the main office. Make plans to come cheer on the Rebels as they take on the Evangel Eagles.

Coming Soon!!! WMHS will administer the ACT to ALL JUNIORS and seniors with a 15-19 on October 22, 2024! Mark your calendars now! Any senior with a score higher than 20 wanting to take the ACT on campus on Tuesday, October 22 needs to see Mrs. Rawls by Friday, August 23.

As football season approaches, it’s time to start warming up our Rebel Spirit. We have many spirit days coming up, and we will let you know each week what to wear, but in case you want to start looking for your spirit gear, here’s a list of the themes: Olympics, Red Out, Jersey, Super Hero, Western, White Out, Pink Out, Safari, Rock and Roll, and Neon. Be ready to show your spirit.

Getting involved at WMHS is really easy as there are so many different things offered for you to plug into. But, it can be overwhelming figuring out what all is available. On Sept 4, the Freshmen Success teachers will be hosting a Club Fair during lunch shifts. You can browse the tables and visit with current members of clubs and organizations. Make plans to check this out.

Homecoming Court Applications Now Available!

Students interested in applying for Homecoming Court should visit gorebs.org under the tab "Parents and Students" to access the application. Please note: Self-Nomination Only: Students must complete their own application; nominations from others are not accepted.

Application Requirements: To be eligible, you must complete and submit the GOOGLE form by Wednesday, August 28th at 3:00 PM. Attend the mandatory parent meeting on August 29th. Make sure to follow all steps to ensure your application is considered. See Mrs. Pittard in the library if you have any questions.

If you love playing board games, you should attend the Board Game Club interest meeting Wednesday 28th in the library directly after school.

The West Monroe High School Robotics team is recruiting new members. If you are interested in joining the team , you must complete an application AND have a parent representative at the August 29th parent meeting at 5:30 in the STEM building. The AAPPL (apple) test will be offered on September 11th. This is for students who know another language and who wish to test out of their language classes. The cost of the test is $20. See Mrs. Ballance in room 2207 for a list of languages or to pick up a registration form. Forms and money are due by September 10th.
