CLUB and ORGANIZATION NEWS:
The West Monroe High School Robotics team applications are due today. See Mr. Lovelady (3203), Mrs. Lovelady (7101), or Mrs. Cady (7103) if you have any questions.
The second round of memberships for Rebel Art Club opened yesterday for the following students: Current WMHS Art students,Previous WMHS Art students with a written (or emailed) reference from your previous Art teacher. See Mrs. Lengefeld in room 1109 to pick up an application ASAP. Applications are due by TOMORROW. Membership will be capped at 35 students this year on a first-come, first-served basis, so get those applications in quickly for the remaining spots! Please do NOT pay club dues until your application has been accepted.
The 30+ Club is now accepting applications. To apply students must fill out the google form under Mrs. Gulde's teacher page on gorebs.org and submit a photo of their official ACT COMPOSITE score with their name visible in the photo.
Students interested in Amateur Radio Club are welcome to join our first meeting Tuesday, September 10th. This meeting will be after school in the STEM building until 4 o' clock. See Mrs. Cavin in the library for more information.
If you are interested in joining Key Club this year, please stop by Ms. McFadden’s in room 3208 or Mrs. Pankey in room 4102 for an enrollment form. You must join by their first meeting which is September 10th at 7:15am in the library. There will also be a second meeting after school that day in Ms. McFadden's room from 3:15-3:40 for those who cannot make the morning one.

SCHOOL NEWS:
WMHS will administer the ACT to ALL JUNIORS and to seniors who have a score of 15-19. Test day is October 22. Mark your calendars.
The AAPPL (apple) test will be offered on September 11th. This is for students who know another language and who wish to test out of their language classes. The cost of the test is $20. See Mrs. Ballance in room 2207 for a list of languages or to pick up a registration form. Forms and money are due by September 10th. .
The annual PIZZA PIGOUT night is Tuesday, September 10th from 5-8 pm at the Warren Drive and Wallace Road locations of Johnny’s Pizza. Make plans to attend.
Attention students taking dual enrollment courses this semester: If you owe money to ULM, that payment will be due no later than Wednesday, Sept. 25. Beginning in September, you may either bring a check to Mrs. Hunt OR pay online on your ULM Banner account. If paying by check, you must write your full name on the memo line. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE AMOUNT YOU OWE MAY NOT BE ACCURATELY REFLECTED IN YOUR BANNER ACCOUNT RIGHT NOW, AS OPSB FUNDING HAS NOT YET BEEN ADDED, AND COURSES ARE CURRENTLY BEING ADDED BY ULM . If you have any questions about the amount you owe to ULM, please ask your DE teachers or Mrs. Hunt.
The 2024-2025 Rebelaire is officially available for purchase. Go to Balfour.com and select our school and you can order now. Today the cost is $75 a yearbook, but on Jan 1, 2025 the price will jump to $100 a yearbook. Also - SENIORS: Baby ad portal is also found through Balfour.com. Your parents can purchase the baby ad as well as your yearbook all in one shot. The baby ads will only be able to be purchased through Dec.1, 2024 so go ahead and take care of it now.
ASVAB Registration is open now! This is open for all sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Sign up with your Social Studies teacher! ASVAB will be given on September 24 so the deadline to sign up is September 13.
SPORTS NEWS:
Volleyball kicks off their season against Wossman tonight! Slide out to ULM to catch our girls in action in the season opener.
This Saturday, our Freshman and Sophomore Cross Country team members will travel to Choudrant for a meet. We wish them good luck as well.
Tomorrow night in Rebel Stadium the football team will host Huntington. This is our first home game of the season so make plans to come on out.
And, in honor of our first home football game, tomorrow is also Pep Rally day. The theme is “Olympics” so get your spirit stuff together and come ready to cheer on our classmates.
Student Athletic passes are now on sale for $30! You can purchase online at gorebs.org under the online school payments These get you into all home, regular season games (not playoff games) and work for all sports. An extra bonus is this pass also grants you access to the Rebel Nation Student Section at all home games
Speaking of the Rebel Nation Student Section. Here is some information….
To get into the Rebel Nation Student Section, you must have a Rebel Nation Pass or an athletic pass.
The Rebel Nation pass does not need to be purchased if you have an athletic pass.
Rebel Nation passes are ONLY available online. No cash will be taken at the game.
WMHS Seniors can sign in a guest that attends any school. The senior must be able to prove they are a WMHS senior before signing in their guest if asked.
