CLUB and ORGANIZATION NEWS:  

 

  • Biology Club members: Don’t forget to sign up to serve at Woofstock on Saturday, Nov. 2nd from 10 am-2 pm. You can do that on the Google Classroom page to sign up. 

 

  • Interact Club members: Don’t forget you will be providing specific food items for baskets for cancer patients with the Cancer Foundation League. Go to your Google Classroom to see what you should bring. Items are due to school by next Friday.

 

  • The Rebel Band is competing in the District 1 Marching Contest this Tuesday in Rebel Stadium. Come out and cheer them on. 

 

  • FCS/FCA meets Wednesday morning in the New Gym. 

 

SCHOOL NEWS: 

 

  • The WMHS College and Career Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 29 from 5 - 7 pm in the EDGEWOOD building. University representatives will be onsite to answer questions about college admissions and programs. Local Businesses will also be attending! Apprenticeships and job opportunities may be available.n Anyone is welcome to come, but Juniors and Seniors are strongly encouraged. Seniors can visit the Senior Google Classroom for more information.

 

  • The 2024-2025 Rebelaire is officially available for purchase. Go to Balfour.com and select our school and you can order now. Today the cost is $75 a yearbook, but on Jan 1, 2025 the price will jump to $100 a yearbook.  Also - SENIORS: Baby ad portal is also found through Balfour.com. Your parents can purchase the baby ad as well as your yearbook all in one shot. The baby ads will only be able to be purchased through Dec.1, 2024 so go ahead and take care of it now. 

 

  • Seniors, the Scholarship page under Counselor's Corner is being updated as scholarship opportunities come in! Please don't wait to apply! There are many types of scholarships available so if you have any questions please visit your guidance counselor!

 

  • Attention students registered for PSAT!! PSAT testing will take place on Wednesday, in the Edgewood Building. Report directly to Edgewood on Wednesday morning when the 7:35 am bell rings. Be sure your Chromebook is charged when you come to school. See you Wednesday!!

 

  • Big news, West Monroe High School students! You can travel to Berlin, Prague, Krakow and Budapest with us in Summer 2026!  Bring a parent and join us at 6:00 on Tuesday, November 12th in the Fieldhouse (upstairs) for the first information meeting. For more information, please see Mrs. Averitt in room 6205 for details or join the Eastern Europe Trip 2026 Google Classroom.  The code to join is 6cnxg5s.

 

  • This Tuesday, the Art department faculty and students will be celebrating Bob Ross’s birthday. Be looking for their celebrations around campus and especially at lunch when they share some things with student body.


 

SPORTS NEWS:

 

  • The Varsity football team travels to Neville this Friday to take on the Tigers. It is Safari day so get your spirit gear ready. We also get to enjoy another pep rally so be ready. A special thank you to the student section and all the spirit groups and fans for making this past Friday night extra loud and spirited as the Rebels defeated Pineville. 

 

  • The Cross Country teams will be participating in the North Louisiana Championships in Ruston on Halloween night, which is Thursday. The Girls start at 4:30 and the boys’ at 5:15. Good luck to these teams. 

 

  • The Tennis team has a match at West Ouachita Tuesday afternoon. Good luck to this team.

 

  • The Lady Rebel Volleyball team hosts Wossman in the New Gym Tuesday at 5:30 and 6:30. It is Senior Night for some of these ladies. Come support them. They also play at home Wednesday vs Southwood and Thursday vs West Ouachita.  These are the last regular season home games.

 

  • The Girls’ soccer team has a scrimmage at Neville on Tuesday. We wish them a great pre-season match.
