CLUB and ORGANIZATION NEWS:
Interact Club members: Don’t forget you will be providing specific food items for baskets for cancer patients with the Cancer Foundation League. Go to your Google Classroom to see what you should bring. Items are due to school by tomorrow.
Junior Civitans, Your t-shirts are in! Stop by Mrs Beach’s room (6206) to get yours!
Student Council members, don’t forget the Student Council meeting is Tuesday, which is November 12th. All student council members need to see Mrs. Nix in room 3105 for your student council shirt. All shirts to be picked up by Monday. Club pictures are on Tuesday. See Google classroom for more information.
Rebel Art Club members:We will meet today after school until 5:00 in room 1109 to bleach-paint our club shirts!If you have not paid your club dues, please bring $25 with you to receive your club shirt. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please come by room 1109 to pick up your shirt by this Friday. These members will need to work on them at home over the weekend to have them ready for club photo day on November 12th.
Do you like Roller Coasters? Are you a part of the Biology Club? Well, you are in luck. This year's trip will be to the Roller Coaster Capital of the World. We will be traveling to Sandusky, Ohio in May. If you are interested in more information, please visit the Biology Club google classroom page and add your name to the list. Trip deposits are due Nov. 20th.
This past Saturday, the WMHS AFJROTC Cadet Squadron LA-061 competed in the Airline High School Blue Thunder Drill Competition on Saturday. Welcome Rotc to tell us more about this great achievement. This Drill Meet is the largest in the ARK-LA-TEX Region with 14 schools. Our Falcon Honor Guard excelled with Placing in 7 of 9 events they entered! They placed first in Armed Inspection, Armed Tandem Exhibition, Master Color Guard and Academics, 2nd Place in Challenger Color Guard, and 3rd Place in Armed Regulation and Unarmed Inspection!

The 2024-2025 Rebelaire is officially available for purchase. Go to Balfour.com and select our school and you can order now. Today the cost is $75 a yearbook, but on Jan 1, 2025 the price will jump to $100 a yearbook. Also - SENIORS: Baby ad portal is also found through Balfour.com. Your parents can purchase the baby ad as well as your yearbook all in one shot. The baby ads will only be able to be purchased through Dec.1, 2024 so go ahead and take care of it now.
Seniors, the Scholarship page under Counselor's Corner is being updated as scholarship opportunities come in! Please don't wait to apply! There are many types of scholarships available so if you have any questions please visit your guidance counselor!
Any student who is not already enrolled in a ULM dual enrollment class and would like to take a dual enrollment class second semester needs to see Mrs. Hunt to pick up a spring application. Online elective courses are the only classes available for spring semester, and you must have room in your schedule to take one of these courses, as a computer lab hour will be scheduled for these courses. Check with your guidance counselor before picking up a packet from Mrs. Hunt in room 4209 for an application package. All applications are due to Mrs. Hunt no later than Monday, December 16. Note: As of right now, seniors will get two free classes in the spring, and juniors will get one.
Club Picture Day is coming up November 12th. If you are a member of any club, please be sure you know what you are supposed to wear and what time your club pictures are scheduled. You can check with your club sponsor for that information.
The title of the spring musical has been announced and this year, WMHS will be presenting Music Man. Auditions are being held in the coming weeks. Stop by the choir room to pick up your packet of audition information.
The Spirit Staff has been listening to you and heard you would like to see some new stuff at this week’s pep rally. So, tomorrow we will be a having a dance off!! We need to know who you think at West Monroe truly has the best dance moves and would be willing to come on the floor to compete on Friday morning. We will most likely pick about 15 folks to come out and strut their stuff. We will start the music and let everyone do their best moves. And then let you guys cheer for who you think is the winner. There will also be prizes!! Just remember… keep it clean and classy and don’t forget to dress in the Rock spirit theme!! You can submit names on the Student Life Google classroom page of who you think we should invite down to the floor. If you haven’t joined the page before, the code is ns5rv7p. So send us the names of the best Rebel dancers! We can’t wait to see you rock!!
SPORTS NEWS:
The JV soccer team travels to Ouachita this afternoon for a scrimmage at 5:30
The boys’ basketball team has a scrimmage this afternoon at Franklin Parish. The Girls’ team also travels this afternoon to a scrimmage at Parkway.
The Cross Country teams will be competing in Regionals this afternoon in Lincoln Parish Park. Good Luck!
The Varsity football team hosts Ruston tomorrow night in Rebel Stadium. It’s Senior night for ROTC, the Frunners and the Rebel Band. Our spirit day is “Rock and Roll,” and we also have a pep rally.
All non football players interested in powerlifting need to sign up with Coach Welch, Coach Bowman, or Coach Meche. Tryouts will be Thursday, November 14 after school. If you are interested and are a football player, talk to those same coaches.
Student tickets for the game will be $5. Students need to go by the main office and purchase them with cash or credit card. Let’s fill the student section
