Agriscience Introduction Syllabus 2019-2020-

Teacher: Mr. Kavanaugh

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Agriscience is an introduction to the many fields of agriculture and their importance to science.  We will explore topics such as the importance of Agriscience, leadership, FFA, public speaking, animal science, plant science, and basic carpentry.

Course Requirements:

1. Students are expected to participate, do all daily work, and follow all class rules.
2. Students are expected to join FFA as it will enhance learning.  FFA dues this year are ____.
3. Students are expected to plan an carry out a Supervised Agriculture Experience Program (SAE).
4. Student’s are expected to follow all safety procedure’s during lab/ shop work.

CLASSROOM RULES:

1. All rules apply from the West Monroe High School Handbook. Refer to it if you have any questions.

2. Be on time and in the room when the bell rings. Sit in your same seat every day.

3. Do not talk while the teacher is talking or others are talking. Raise your hand if you would like to speak. During “group work” we will have open discussions.

4. Come to class prepared. If you are having problems obtaining materials please talk to me and we work out a solution.

5. No getting out of your desk or leaving the classroom until Mr. Kavanaugh dismisses.

7. Respect EVERYONE! Remember our class motto -you are UNIQUE, LOVED, and WILL CHANGE THE WORLD!

GRADING:

Daily Bell Ringers turned in once a week.

SUPPLIES:

Pen/pencils  and a 3 ring binder or notebook a good attitude!
