Seniors - A nice sum of money could be coming your way in the form of a scholarship.  The local law office of Breithaupt, Dubos and Wolleson is sponsoring a Black History Month Essay Contest with a first prize valued at $2,500.  Second prize is $1,000.  Pick up a copy of the contest specifics in the guidance office.  Essays should be 500 words or less and should discuss an African-American who has been an inspiration in your life.  The person could be someone from history, politics, industry, entertainment, sports, a relative or any person who has impacted your life directly.  You must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.  Because this scholarship is local, your competition is just with others in our parish.  Watch your deadline because it needs to arrive at the law office by 5:00 PM on 2/23.

Seniors - Remember that scholarships are updated regularly at gorebs.org and on our Facebook site.  Statistics show that students typically get one scholarship for every 10 applications they complete.  In short, you can't win if you don't apply.  Let's finish strong.
